The Great Taste Awards

Applications have now come to a close for this years Great Taste Awards. Over the past two years in both 2014 and 2015 we have been honoured to win this prestigious award for 3 of our rapeseed oils. The winners were our natural rapeseed oil, chilli rapeseed oil and lemon rapeseed oil.

The Great Taste Awards are organised by the Guild of Fine Food. They are the acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drink. As stated on the Great Taste website ‘Quite simply, the Great Taste logo is the sign you can trust when buying food and drink in your local, quality retailer.’

The Great Taste Awards are a widely recognised mark of a high quality product. From feed back at the events we attend, we know that our customers look out for these marks of distinction when buying from producers. Quite rightly too, once you understand the process behind choosing a Great Taste Award winner you will understand why. 

Around 400 judges from all corners of the food world take part in the process and products are blind taste tested in groups of around 4-5 judges to ensure fairness and a balance of expertise. Only 31% of entries in 2015 were accredited, which shows what a rigorous judging process the products go through to ensure they are award worthy. 

We will be waiting in anticipation in August to find out who the 2016 winners are.
