About Us
We are Kate, Ben and Lottie, and along with our dog Pip, we are the people behind Brock & Morten.
We set up Brock & Morten in January 2013. Both of us growing up in Derbyshire within farming families gave us a vast knowledge of the food and farming industries. This, coupled with our passion for supporting British farming and a love of good food helped us to see a great opportunity for using the oil seed rape crop grown on our family’s farm each year.
We are proud of our business, which is focused on creating a product that has low food miles and is traceable from field to fork. Over the last decade we have worked hard to create a range of different products in a host of delicious flavours using our rape seed oil as a base.
We are based in Derbyshire and now live a stone’s throw from our farm, just outside the town of Bakewell, in Ashford-in-the-Water.
Family life alongside running a farm and business keeps us very busy, but we love to travel and embrace the wonderful countryside setting that we are fortunate enough to live in. Follow us on Instagram to see behind the scenes.
Our History
The Brocklehurst family has been farming in this beautiful part of the country for well over 150 years on a mixed beef and arable farm, growing crops of wheat, barley and oil seed rape. We farm about 700 acres in and around the picturesque village of Ashford-in-the-Water. The family also has a suckler beef herd from which they supply award-winning Aberdeen Angus beef.
